Perry Welch leads our Planting Party in Fairhaven Park

April 28, 2017 by Todd Elsworth Leave a Comment

As part of our mitigation for the Fairhaven Park Trail and Boardwalk project, we held a planting party. Our Wetland Biologist Perry Welch, with Welch Ecological Services, has been one of our core advisors on our “Trail Team”. Perry came up with our planting plan.
Perry and our regular volunteer, Dodd review where that plants should go!
In this round of planting, we had 5 Douglas Fir, 5 Paper Birch, 5 Crabapple, 20 Indian Plum, 3 Sitka Willow and 25 Snowberry!

We keep our work parties short and hosted this one on a Thursday 6-8pm. Our competent crew was made up of Sharon, Dale, Janice, Dodd and Perry. We were able to get all the plants planted and mulched in our short window of time! Serious Hustle.

I couldn’t help but be in the photo too. Thanks to this great crew and Perry’s plan.
