Fairhaven Park Work Parties

Our Stewardship of Fairhaven Park requires community volunteers to help maintain our Native Plant Gardens. 

Work Parties 

We work with Bellingham Parks as stewards of the park. If you’d like to help:

Below are our upcoming Volunteer Work Parties held in Fairhaven Park.  

April 27, Time: 11:00-4:30pm with Phillips 66 Volunteers

June 11, Time:TBD

Work Party INFO 

Transportation: Bus, Bike, Walk or Carpool if you can. 

Meeting Location: Upper shelter in Fairhaven Park.

When: See specific dates/times above 

Late?: If you arrive later than the start time, walk up the trail and find us in one of our Native Plant Gardens. Listen for the sounds of work getting done and laughter! 

Tasks: We will be removing invasive species and unwanted competition to protect our native plants. This is essentially buttercup, sprouting thistle; blackberry; and ivy. 

Equipment: Gloves, tools, and instruction provided. Please wear long pants, close-toed shoes and weather appropriate clothing. Don’t forget your water bottle and a snack. We will have water for refills. 

Who? All ages welcome, no experience necessary.  Volunteers under the age of 18 are required to have a guardian sign a Liability form at the event. 

What to wear: Please wear reasonable clothing- dress for the seasonal weather. 

After Party: We traditionally convene at Stones Throw Brewery to wind up the evening.
