We are doing something different and fun this May! We have been invited to facilitate a weekend retreat at Indralaya Camp on Orcas Island, May 1 – May 4, 2025.
Indralaya is a theosophical center committed to community and spiritual development. Offering programming and work parties on their campus throughout the year.

Whether you’re a seasoned nature lover or a curious beginner, this workshop is for you. Join us to cultivate a deeper appreciation for the natural world and experience the profound peace it offers.
In today’s fast-paced world, feeling overwhelmed and disconnected is easy. This workshop offers a retreat into nature, where you’ll discover the profound benefits of slowing down and reconnecting with the natural world. You’ll learn:
- The science-backed benefits of spending time in nature
- Mindfulness techniques to enhance your connection with the natural world
- Practical tips for incorporating more nature into your daily life
During the guided practice, you’ll:
- Engage in sensory awareness exercises to fully immerse yourself in the present moment
- Practice mindful walking to cultivate a sense of peace and tranquility
- Participate in a grounding meditation to connect with the earth and your inner self

As Chief Operating Officer, Elizabeth Nelson brings her B.S. in Public Health, her extensive work with trauma survivors of domestic and sexual abuse, and her own experiences of the positive connection and health benefits of time spent in nature into the Parkscriptions program at Recreation Northwest. She is a certified Wilderness First Responder. She has a broad range of experience running her own business and working in nonprofit and government organizations.
