FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Recreation Northwest Announces Vital Choice as Title Spawnsor for 2014 Bellingham Traverse
Solo, tandem and relay teams compete in event on September 20, 2014 Bellingham, WA.
BELLINGHAM, Wash., April 24, 2014—Recreation Northwest is pleased to announce that Vital Choice will be the title “spawnsor” of the 2014 Bellingham Traverse, taking place in Bellingham, Washington on September 20 2014.
The Grand Finale of the Northwest Traverse series, the Vital Choice Bellingham Traverse is a multi-sport event celebrating the life cycle of the wild salmon, with a symbolic tribute to the natural and urban challenges of their journey through life. Solo, tandem and relay teams will challenge themselves and each other on a rugged course that highlights the City of Bellingham’s parks, Greenways trails, bike-friendly roads and opportunities for open water recreation. Participants range from hard-core competitors to those in costume, focused on fun.
Each year, Recreation Northwest selectively partners with leading local and regional companies to provide a strong foundation for the event. Vital Choice is a natural fit, as its values closely align with those of Recreation Northwest: both organizations value health and nutrition, stewardship of public lands and investing in the local economy and community.
As part of Vital Choice’s support for stewardship efforts led by the Bellingham Traverse, the company will be making a $2,500 donation to the Nooksack Salmon Enhancement Association.
“Vital Choice is proud to be the title spawnsor of the Bellingham Traverse. It’s a great community event that’s right in line with with our mission of promoting health for our employees and our customers and supporting our salmon resource,” said Randy Hartnell, Founder and President of Vital Choice. “Our company team greatly enjoys participating in the Traverse, as well.”
The 2014 Northwest Traverse series begins with the Winthrop Traverse on June 14 and continues with the Olympia Traverse on July 26 and the North Bend Iron Horse Traverse on September 6, wrapping up in Bellingham.
