Seattle, Wash. April 17, 2019 – Boldly Went, an outdoor adventure storytelling show that travels across the USA and Canada is returning to Seattle for the 9th time, this time in partnership with Recreation Northwest. Boldly Went will create an evening of engaging adventure storytelling with anyone who attends. The next interactive event is being hosted at NW Peaks Brewery located in Ballard.
Like many other regions that the Boldly Went traveling storytelling group tours, the Seattle show expects a wide variety of outdoor enthusiasts who are exploring the world in unique and interesting ways. What sets Seattle apart from other venues is its ease of access to all mountain and water sports. Seattle is situated in close proximity to the Pacific Crest Trail, Pacific Northwest Trail, world class volcanic mountaineering, and three National Parks – Rainier, Olympic, and North Cascades, and famous sailing races, such as Race to Alaska.
Angel Mathis, co-creator of Boldly Went explains, “Boldly Went shows are different from the typical adventure presentations that we all know. Boldly Went brings outdoors enthusiasts and athletes of all kinds away from their activity silos into a shared space and gives every person in attendance, regardless of their skill or expertise, an equal opportunity to share their intriguing, inspiring, and impactful adventure stories.”
Event format is casual and starts with a brief review of how to tell a good outdoor adventure story. Anyone interested in telling a story will be encouraged to complete the storyteller sign up sheet throughout the evening. Of those signed up, names are drawn at random. Selected individuals are given 10 minutes to tell their adventure story.
Storytellers are judged by select audience members using criteria described in detail on the Boldly Went website. A winner is announced at the end of the evening. Stories are recorded and may be shared later in the weekly podcast.
Everyone is welcome to attend and no one will be required or pressured to tell a story.
DETAILS – Thursday, April 25, 2019. 6:45 – 9 PM. $7-$15 Adults, $5 under 16 gets you admission to an engaging and inspiring adventure storytelling show and podcast taping featuring outdoorists of all kinds. Open to all ages and most enjoyed by those 13 and up.
