FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Recreation Northwest 3rd Annual EXPO Expands to Depot Market Square, Adds Excursions

Annual event brings local and regional outdoor recreation groups together to engage with the public with free EXPO on Friday, February 26 and outdoor activities on February 27.

BELLINGHAM, Wash., February 15, 2016—Recreation Northwest announces the third annual Recreation Northwest EXPO will be held Friday, February 26, 2016 at the Depot Market Square, 1100 Railroad Ave. in Bellingham, Washington.

The event runs from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. and is free to the public. Attendees are invited to learn about EXPO exhibitors and connect one-on-one with representatives from the region’s best recreation companies and organizations, bike and running shops, outfitters, outdoor activity clubs, stewardship organizations, gear manufacturers, local and regional events and races, and outdoor media companies. Recreation Northwest expects 65 exhibitors and 700 attendees.

“The Depot Market Square is a great location for Recreation Northwest EXPO,” said Todd Elsworth, Executive director of Recreation Northwest. “The energy present in downtown Bellingham blends perfectly with that of our growing outdoor recreation community. We’re expecting more drop-in foot traffic as word gets out about this exciting event.”

This year, Recreation Northwest is expanding the EXPO with Excursions on Saturday, February 27. Everyone is invited to learn more about trail running, hiking, mountain biking and paddling through guide-led group activities in the Chuckanut Mountains, at Lake Padden and around Bellingham. Most Excursions are free. Get details at www.RecreationNorthwest.org.

“We’re very excited to offer Excursions to the public this year to promote Bellingham as a destination for outdoor recreation, as well as to encourage public participation in our healthy Northwest lifestyle,” said Elsworth.

Profiles and photos of highlighted EXPO Exhibitors are provided on Recreation Northwest’s blog, The Confluence:
