Description

From our downtown office, we walk a couple city blocks through town and jump on the South Bay Trail to hoof it to the historic Fairhaven district and back for the round trip hike. Along the way, your guide will highlight points of interest and provide you with a modern perspective of the historic landscape. Heading south, the wide path on the Bellingham Greenways trail provides a gentle grade as you descend to Boulevard Park. The paved path winds through the park along the shores of the bay with sweeping views of Lummi Island, the San Juan islands, Nooksack River Delta, and the Canadian Border Peaks to the north.

The path leads onto Taylor Street Dock spanning the edge of the bay- connecting the park to the Chrysalis Inn & Spa- and into Village Green in Fairhaven. Your group will determine how much to explore in and around the cobblestone streets and connected trails before you begin your return journey back to our headquarters.

Listed in Craig Romano’s Urban Trails Bellingham, published by Mountaineers Books.
