Let’s Talk Water Trails at Basecamp – Tuesday, April 10th

April 3, 2018 by Todd Elsworth Leave a Comment

We are wrapping up winter with our final Basecamp event of the season. Join us at Stones Throw Brewery with fellow Recreationists to talk some shop with other cool folks. We’ll be in the back of the pub down in the fire pit out back. Come be a part of the conversation that helps drive our outdoor recreation community.

Stones Throw Brewery
Tuesday, April 10th
5:00 pm – 6:30 pm

One topic that will be addressed is discussing the opportunities and dreams people in the industry and our community have collectively. What can we do to make Bellingham and Whatcom County more accessible and nurture business to grow around paddling and water sports?

Here’s an open invitation from Kristi with Moondance:

Hello Whatcom Paddlers,

Kristi Kucera here with Moondance Sea Kayak Adventures. As you all know there is a lot of talk regarding the waterfront development. I’m working to promote something like a marine trail or a specific hand launching location on the waterfront that would greatly benefit our human powered recreation community and I need more paddlers input on what we would all want that to look like. You all are a big part of the water recreation community and I’d love ya’ll to join the conversation if you haven’t already.

If you or folks you know are interested in being part of the conversation we will be kicking off the conversation Basecamp Bellingham’s meet up on Tuesday, April 10th at Stones Throw Brewery from 5-6:30pm.

This will be an intentional group discussion to help us gather insight and information on what our paddling community wants and needs as well as idea’s that can keep it funded and working for all.

The idea’s from this group conversation will be discussed with Michael Shepard, our Port Commissioner, at the end of this month. Michael is very much in support of making sure our paddling community has a voice in this development. Please email me at  with any questions and feel free to forward this invite to anyone you see fit. Hope to see you on Tuesday the 10th.

Thank you!!

Come share what your dream is…

Cheers!
