Portland Athletic & Outdoor Industry

October 20, 2017 by Todd Elsworth Leave a Comment

This was shared with me by our VP, Brian Roche. Brian also works for local outdoor manufacturer Gear Aid. He has his finger on the pulse of the industry.

Hit the play button on the website and it takes you through the last 100+ years of business development in the Portland Athletic & Outdoor Industry.  It is crazy to see the boom – enjoy:   Portland Athletic & Outdoor Industry website.

More about the project: The City of Portland and the Portland Development Commission are working hand-in-hand with the industry on programs and initiatives that support and encourage the success of Oregon’s 800 Athletic & Outdoor (A&O) companies and the over 16,000 people who work for them. By encouraging collaboration across the industry that leads to overall economic growth and job creation, our vision is for Portland to be recognized as the global hub of the A&O industry. Local government and educational institutions are as passionate about growing the state’s Athletic & Outdoor Industry (A&O) through collaboration, education, and innovation as the brands they help support.

As executive director, he works to fulfill our mission to teach the health benefits of nature, promote outdoor recreation, and steward the places where we play.
