About Us

Recreation Northwest (RN). Founded on January 15, 2013, our foundation was built on the Bellingham Traverse multi-sport race and its’ expansion into the Northwest Traverse Series in Olympia, Winthrop and North Bend. See Our History for complete event portfolio and origin story.

We are Recreation Northwest

We teach the health benefits of nature, promote outdoor recreation, and steward the places where we play. Over the past eight years, we’ve appreciated our relationships with you in the active outdoor recreation community. We are resilient and remain committed to our mission and will re-emerge with a clear and exciting path— leading our community forward in the great outdoors. On behalf of the Board of Directors and our Staff, we look forward to creating the next chapter and experiences together.

Land Acknowledgement

The City of Bellingham is situated on the ancestral and traditional homelands of the Coast Salish Peoples, whose tribal treaty rights we support and for whose enduring care of the lands and waters we are deeply grateful.
