Bellingham Traverse SOLD to Pacific Multisports

October 15, 2018 by Todd Elsworth Leave a Comment

Yes, this is BIG NEWS!

As the host of The Bellingham Traverse for the past 17 years, I am making the decision to pass the torch to another group- Pacific Multisports. This will enable this iconic Bellingham event to mature and thrive into the future. Recreation Northwest has taken on the valuable work of the Stewardship of Fairhaven Park, our Recreation Economy advocacy and popular Parkscriptions program. These three programs deserve our attention.

A new manager, Marc Blake of Pacific Multisport, has taken ownership of the event. We are in the process to make for a smooth transition. He is the Race Director of the Lake Whatcom Triathlon, involved in the Triathlon Club and expanding his new business into timing and other race related services. Marc has raced the Traverse as a Chinook (soloist) and wants to see it continue as a beloved community event. He is a trusted man, with good people surrounding him already.

I encourage you to continue to support this event and look forward to next September.

Sincerely,
