Celebrate Earth Day with NSEA!

March 28, 2014 by Todd Elsworth

Hovander Homestead Park
April 19th, 2014
9:00 am – 12:00 pm

Join your friends at Nooksack Salmon Enhancement Association (NSEA) for a planting party on the shores of the Nooksack River. This will be a great way to spend Earth Day.

NSEA Earth Day work party Facebook Event

You’ll be working along the Nooksack Loop Trail in Hovander Park, Ferndale. Have fun planting native trees and shrubs to improve the salmon habitat on the Nooksack River.  Streamside restoration projects are one of the most valuable methods of gaining community support, increasing awareness of the need for healthy watersheds and providing community members with opportunities to become involved with salmon recovery in Whatcom County.

Work with NSEA, Whatcom Conservation District, Whatcom County Parks and others from around the area. No RSVP, all ages welcome, all tools, gloves and refreshments provided.

Free keepsake t-shirts to the first 200 volunteers. (last year we had 300+ people out in Acme).

Here’s a Google Map link.
