Fairhaven Park & Community Forest Work Party

Sunday, March 23rd
10:00 am – 12:30 pm

An Invitation: Please join us for a Trail Clean Up Work Party. Our Trail Crew (including you) will go in with hand saws and remove debris on the trails. Join Recreation Northwest and Bellingham Parks & Recreation for a walk in the woods and accomplish some work along the way.

Directions: Turn at the Fairhaven Veterinary Hospital (Google Map) South off of Old Fairhaven Parkway onto 24th Street. Address: 2330 Old Fairhaven Pkwy., Bellingham, WA 98225

 

Car Parking: (updated) Please park on the pavement before the road ends. We will be walking down the Interurban to enter the woods.

Equipment: Please bring gloves. If you don’t have gloves, Parks and Recreation will provide them for you.

Clothing: Wear boots (it’s going to be muddy) and bring layers!

Our Guides:
Rae Edwards, Bellingham Parks Volunteer Coordinator, Bellingham Parks & Recreation, will also offer her unique perspective on the area and bring the tools and information we need to be successful.

Todd Elsworth, Executive Director, Recreation Northwest will be bringing up the rear making sure everybody is having fun and connecting with people and nature.

Todd Elsworth is one of the many “Mossy-haired lunatics roaming the dripping peninsulas”, described in “I’m Here for the Weather” by Tom Robbins. As executive director, he works to fulfill our mission to teach the health benefits of nature, promote outdoor recreation, and steward the places where we play.
