NEW URBAN OUTDOORS STORE OPENS IN DOWNTOWN OLYMPIA

OLYMPIA, WA, (March 31, 2014) – Centro, an urban lifestyle store with an outdoors influence, has opened its doors in Downtown Olympia, Washington. Located diagonally across from the Hands on Children’s Museum in the Historic Hyak Lumber Building on Olympia Avenue, Centro currently features The Bike Stand and a seasonal ski-shop, closing soon until the Fall.

Says Joe Hyer, President, “Centro is a retail hub- but it’s more than that.  It’s going to be a marketplace of ideas, as well, and a place for recreation, leisure, and education.  Centro will be what WE, together, make of it.”

The new store is currently undergoing interior remodeling to add The Olympia Footwear Company, a café, everyday essentials, and several ‘concept shops’ from key brand partners.  The concentration of this new company is on being a community-based retail marketplace.  Upcoming events will include video screenings, outdoor excursions, and workshops, all centered on the inspiration to find adventure in everyday life.

What makes Centro unique?  “Retail has changed dramatically in recent years,” says Hyer. “Our goal is not just to catch up, but also leap ahead.  We will be dynamic, with new products and offerings monthly.  We will focus on LOCAL – made in the USA products, Northwest based companies, and local financing.”

In fact, Centro organized as a C Corporation.  While many small businesses are drowning in excessive debt – Centro has chosen instead to recruit community shareholders, as a model for how local businesses can also be financed BY the community.  We are actively seeking shareholders – so contact us for a prospectus, and INVEST in Downtown Olympia.
