Parkscription’s Day Recap

Whatcom Parkscription’s Day Recap

Whatcom Parkscription’s Day was an absolute success! It was a gorgeous day out and it finally felt like spring time. This is a nation-wide day and we had a great turnout throughout Whatcom County.

We had 20 events all over the county; Walk with a Doc at Zuanich Point Park which was ADA accessible, Forest Bathing at Whatcom Falls Park where we learned the basic theories of Japanese Forest Bathing and events such as Longevity Stick at Bellingham Senior Activity Center that focused on 12 movements to improve overall mobility. There was an event for everyone!

Recreation Northwest had such an awesome time working with local businesses and practitioners to make this event possible. We are already looking forward to next year. Until then, ask your doctor about a possible Parkscription, or just get outside yourself with the website, whatcomparkfinder.org . See you out there!

She just came back from a year abroad in Tasmania, Australia, but now you can find her out climbing, biking, skiing or running anywhere in the Pacific Northwest. Growing up in the great state of Washington, Jane wants to help people get outside and enjoy all this place has to offer!
