Recreation Northwest’s Race Director Summit 2013
Thursday, November 7th, 2013
6:00 pm – 8:00 pm
Best Western Lakeway Inn – Mt. Baker Room
Invitees: Race Directors in Bellingham, Whatcom County and Skagit County.
We would like to convene local race directors to get our coming calendar ironed out and some issues addressed. There are a growing number of events out there and we’d like to see everybody on the same page. For the established events, we want to work together and identify space and resources for the new events. There are also growing concerns in the community about the shared use of space and resources that must be addressed before we reach a crisis moment. This is preventative communications planning.
Please join us for this first annual event. – Todd Elsworth, Executive Director, Recreation Northwest
AGENDA
5:00 pm: Happy Hour at Poppe’s
6:00 pm: Convene in the Conference Room (you can bring your beer from Poppe’s and we’ll have servers in the room)
Welcome & Introductions
Todd Elsworth, Executive Director of Recreation Northwest will welcome everybody and raise a glass to all the local race directors to get the party started.
2014 Race Calendar
Bring your 2014 dates – we’ll have a big calendar for everyone to look at so we can avoid conflicting events. It will all be shared on the Recreation Northwest Event Calendar
Participant Code of Conduct
Let’s get on the same page and use common language for all of our events to people know how to behave at recreation events in Whatcom County.
Race Director Operations Standards
We can set the tone by committing to common standards in how we operate our events. We’ll also share knowledge on how best to achieve these standards & ID any gaps or needed resources.
Recreation Expo 2014
Promote your event to the community on Thursday, February 13th from 4-8pm. Everyone at the Summit who signs the pledge & signs up for the Recreation Northwest Expo at the Summit gets 10% off.
