Recreation Northwest CREW 2020

January 28, 2020 by Todd Elsworth Leave a Comment

Seasons Change. People Change. Working together, our Recreation Northwest Crew, are a dynamic machine. Our Crew is comprised of staff, interns and volunteers- including our Board of Directors, providing leadership. We kick off the new year with one staff transition.

Shell Philhower has graciously served as our Office Manager since October 2018. She has split her time between us and Kulshan Community Land Trust. She will be moving on to work exclusively for KCLT to help them meet their bold goals for affordable housing in Whatcom County. Thank you Shell, we’ll miss you!

Recent Western Washington University (WWU) graduate, Zuzana Pankovcin, is taking over! Zuzana has served as an intern with us since 2018 and impressed us all immensely. We are delighted to have her join our crew as a key player as our new Office Manager.

Welcome 2020 Interns!

We are fortunate to have 2 new interns working with us this year.

Olivia Leader is a Business and Sustainability student at WWU. She was referred to us and will be helping us expand our reach with our Washington Outdoor Business Alliance.

Also from Western, Stephen Magnuson is working on his final “Field Based Project” for the graduate program at Western in Adult & Higher Education. He is also currently the Outdoor Center Programs Coordinator at WWU.

Todd Elsworth

Todd Elsworth is one of the many “Mossy-haired lunatics roaming the dripping peninsulas”, described in “I’m Here for the Weather” by Tom Robbins. As executive director, he works to fulfill our mission to teach the health benefits of nature, promote outdoor recreation, and steward the places where we play.
