She recently joined the Whatcom County Parks & Recreation Commission and looks forward to using her management and strategy experience to help guide the future work of Recreation Northwest.

“Outdoor recreation is one of the most important and valuable pieces of my life. In receiving so much enjoyment and enrichment from our local parks, open spaces and DNR lands, I would like to start giving back to my community in a way that preserves and improves upon these assets for future generations. In the Recreation Northwest spirit of connecting people with the outdoors, I am also excited about not just working as a steward for the land but encouraging people to take advantage of and enjoy these outdoor spaces. When more people recreate outside, our whole community is strengthened by their positive energy, their improved health, and their appreciation of the ecosystem we all strive to preserve” states Max.

Krissy Moehl is a world renowned professional ultra runner and has been Race Director of the Chuckanut 50k for fifteen years.  She recently authored Running Your First Ultra: Customizable Training Plans for your First 50k to 100 mile Race and coaches trail runners through Revolution Running. I have a huge appreciate and commitment to the outdoors and would love to extend that through working with this local group whose mission aligns with my own” reflects Moehl.
