Thank you Peter James Photography & Stones Throw Brewery for our March Alliance Gathering

March 6, 2020 by Todd Elsworth Leave a Comment

For our March Alliance Gathering, we convened in the cozy corner of south Bellingham, known as Fairhaven. Local Washington State Nature Photographer Peter James opened the doors to his Photography Gallery in Fairhaven’s Orcas Building. We were also treated to a wide sampling of libations from Stones Throw Brewery– just down the street.

Our Board Member, Jack, set up a great display and collection of growlers from his brewery. His Stones Throw Brewery name tag reads: Owner | Janitor. They are celebrating their 4-year anniversary with a Block Party on March 28th. The event will be raising money for the local charity Growing Veterans, who uses farming to provide place, purpose and camaraderie for military veterans – another reason to dance in the street!! Check out the Stones Throw Calendar.

We mingled and got caught up on projects that we were working on and recent fun we’ve had with friends old and new.

Stones Throw’s motto is “The Closest Pint to Adventure”. Go there for yourself and find out…

Samara and Kristi from Moondance Sea Kayak Adventures talk with the host with the most, Peter James, about taking photos from a boat bobbing in the water.

Sticking to the schedule, we gathered together in the corner of the gallery with the sun setting behind our host over Bellingham Bay. Peter took the time to explain his process and philosophies as a Nature Photographer. It was a great story and we all came away with a little something to consider.

As the conversation evolved, we moved deeper into the heart of the gallery. After Peter wrapped up his tour and inquisitive QnA session, we went round the horn with what we refer to as CHIME IN time. Sharing IS caring!

We also had a brief update on and discussed important state and federal outdoor recreation legislation that affects us in Washington State. The pieces that we covered. Take Action below.
