Win a Sunset Cruise on Bellingham Bay with Gato Verde!

June 28, 2017 by Todd Elsworth Leave a Comment

Outdoor Recreation Champions,

Between June 26th and Friday, July 14th, donors who pledge $100 or more to Recreation Northwest will be entered to win a Sunset Cruise for two with Gato Verde catamaran.

This is the best Sunset Cruise in Bellingham!  Gato Verde is never crowded or noisy due to their 6 passenger limit.  You are also welcome to bring your own food & beverages. Gato Verde is the first plug in electric hybrid charter boat on the West Coast, providing clients of all ages and abilities a fun and unique outdoor sailing adventure.

In addition to sailing skills, you will learn about the area’s environment and how to nurture it, natural history, social history and how they all fit together. Because Gato Verde is committed to sustainable development and environmental stewardship, we provide “positive impact” volunteer opportunities on many of our overnight trips. Below is the generous Captain Todd Schuster.

Yes a catamaran!! Catamarans are more comfortable than a monohull, both under sail and at anchor. Under sail a catamaran is able to sail efficiently in the lightest breeze. When the wind pipes up, a catamaran is exciting and fast, without the uncomfortable heeling (leaning over) of a monohull. The wide, flat decks make it easy to move around and the minimal heeling decreases anxiety for those who are new to sailing.  The stability & space make it a perfect platform for whale watching, photography, learning something new, or just kicking back.

Please support our current Fairhaven Park Trail and Boardwalk fundraising campaign and get a chance to go out for a beautiful night on Bellingham Bay with Gato Verde.
