Solar panels arriving by land and sea

Join us on June 27th for the solar dedication at the Taylor Dock shelter, celebrating the Bellingham community’s work in support of renewable energy.

Starting at 2pm solar panels will be delivered from by bike and kayak from Itek Energy’s manufacturing facility in Bellingham, for final installation of the solar array on the roof of the Taylor Dock shelter. Once installed, the array will help power the lights on Taylor Dock.  The solar array is a gift from Puget Sound Energy for the community’s work in supporting the Green Power program, which helps residents and businesses match their energy with clean, renewable energy, generated in the Pacific Northwest.

Interested in supporting recreation and renewable energy? You can pedal or paddle the panels to the dock!  If interested:

  • Interested boaters  should plan on meeting at 11:30 at Cornwall Beach
  • Interested bicyclist should plan on meeting at 12:30pm at Itek Energy.
  • Please RSVP your spot by emailing nicholas.hartrich@pse.com

PSE will raffle off a bike from the HUB to one lucky bicyclist or paddler that participates.

Following the delivery of the panels, please join us for a community dedication celebration on Taylor Dock.
