The Whatcom Report, September 8th: What Makes Recreation Tick?

September 11, 2019 by Todd Elsworth Leave a Comment

Listen in to an interview on The Whatcom Report with Gina Stark, Economic Development Project Manager as she checks in with Gear Aid President, Clark Campbell and Bill Hasenjaeger of Trail Boss. These two local manufacturers will give a bit of insight into how they got started in the outdoor recreation business and what their Bellingham-based companies are up to these days.

Gina and I also talk about how recreation is increasingly recognized as a growing sector in our local economies and how our work and has lead to our formation and launch of the Washington Outdoor Business Alliance. We are proud to have Port of Bellingham, Gear Aid and Trail Boss as founding members of our Alliance. Join Today!

Todd Elsworth is one of the many “Mossy-haired lunatics roaming the dripping peninsulas”, described in “I’m Here for the Weather” by Tom Robbins. As executive director, he works to fulfill our mission to teach the health benefits of nature, promote outdoor recreation, and steward the places where we play.
